I’ve always said that every girl needs a good pair of jeans in her wardrobe. Jeans are extremely versatile. You can mix and match them with pretty much anything. A lot of people make the mistake of only associating jeans with sandals or flats but jeans pair very well with pumps, boots, and high- heeled sneakers. The options are endless. One of our very own House of Haute ladies requested that I do a segment on wearing jeans. I decided to take the challenge! I took my favorite pair of dark jeans and I styled them 5 different ways.
My Personal Tip for Maximum Versatility:
When shopping for a perfect transitional pair of jeans, I recommend a dark skinny. Dark jeans mix well with casual looks as well
as sharper more refined looks. A skinny leg jean looks more polished when paired with heels and flats, however they also compliment sneakers and boots just as much.
For the first look, I paired the jeans with a dark blue sweater and a dark blue heel. The dark theme gives a polished monochromatic look. This look would be great for a casual day at work or a lunch date with friends.
The second look, I paired a fitted dress shirt with the jeans. People tend to tuck in their dress shirts but the shirt I picked was designed to be worn out. I have 2 different options for shoes. You can wear the dark blue heels from the last look or you can change it up by wearing a pair of thigh high cognac color boots, which will add a bit of edge to the look.
Now using these same boots you can create a fun casual look by adding a basic white tank top and a button down long sleeve shirt that can be tied around the waist. If the boots aren’t your style, you can pair this look with regular sneakers or high-heeled sneakers. This look would be great for a concert, day at the park or running errands.
Last look, is more on the dressy side. I kept the white tank from the last look and I threw on a fancy fun blazer. Keep the dark blue heels and now you have a great going out, cocktail outfit.
Don’t ever let anyone tell you that jeans are a lazy outfit choice. Jeans can give you a variety of looks, from dressed up, to dressed down to running errands around town.
